Batorushippu Gurei

01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set in a residential neighbourhood of Minamidai, Nakano City, Batorushippu Gurei is an Italian restaurant open mainly on Friday evenings and at weekends. Despite the slightly rugged sound of its name, the dining room has a calm atmosphere. Carefully prepared dishes arrive with attentive table service.
Lunch, served on Saturdays and Sundays, makes a particularly satisfying meal. A crisp, fresh salad, a warming soup presented in an appealing bowl and freshly baked bread start things off. After taking time over the main dish, diners can finish with dessert, such as panna cotta, and coffee or tea. The full meal leaves the impression of having enjoyed a complete course.
In the evening, the pace is well suited to drinks and a leisurely selection of antipasti and small plates. The menu ranges from pizza topped with prosciutto and vegetables and rich Gorgonzola pasta to spaghetti with clams and fragrant grilled Agu pork. There is a wide choice of wine, as well as beer, cava and limoncello to finish, making it easy to choose a drink to suit each course.
The compact dining room has a few counter seats and several tables. Guests, from solo diners reading a book to families, can enjoy their meals at their own pace. As the restaurant is open only at weekends, it is a good idea to check ahead or book, particularly for dinner.
